Marionia elongoreticulata is characterized by its whitish body with a greenish-yellow tinge, and by a reticulate pattern of thin red lines lines which faint along the midline and between the pairs of the secondary gills, giving the appearance of a white longitudinal median band and white transverse bands. The secondary gills are greenish with magenta outer halfs. The velar tentacles are simple, some with bifid tips.
Very similar is:
Marionia elongoviridis  V.G. Smith & Gosliner, 2007, which differs by red transverse lines.
