Favorinus japonicusfeeds as other species of Favorinus on eggs of other sea-slugs, in this case the eggs of Pleurobranchus forskalii.
Favorinus japonicus has a translucent white body with opaque white markings on the notum. The cerata are nodular, the colour of the digestive glands depend on the colour of the eggs the animal has ingested, the digestive gland adopts the colour. The rhinophores have 2-3 bulbous swellings.
