I have posted more pictures than usual to show some of the variants. There are many similar coloured chromodorids which Bill Rudman calls the "Noumea purpurea colour group". It was originally posted at these websites as Pectenodoris trilineata (Adams & Reeve, 1850) [Goniodoris] I follow the recent article (published: 10 April 2012) Rebecca Fay Johnson & Terrence M. Gosliner. 2012. Traditional Taxonomic Groupings Mask Evolutionary History: A Molecular Phylogeny and New Classification of the Chromodorid Nudibranchs. online at http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0033479 and move Pectenodoris trilineata to the genus Mexichromis Bertsch, 1977. More information on Mexichromis trilineata as Pectenodoris trilineata are on Bill Rudman's Sea-Slug Forum! How to cite: Köhler, E. (2017), published 22 September 2017, Mexichromis trilineata (A. Adams & Reeve, 1850) available from https://www.Philippine-Sea-Slugs.com/Nudibranchia/Doridina/Mexichromis_trilineata.htm |
