This species was misidentified and posted on 21 June 2003 at these websites as Hypselodoris maculosa (Pease, 1871) [Chromodoris]
Epstein et al. (2018) write :"Johnson (2005) suggested that H. decorata has several distinguishing attributes of its colour pattern that separate it from H. maculosa, including the presence of three rather than two red rhinophoral rings."
I changed it on 1 October 2018 into Hypselodoris decorata (Risbec, 1928) [Chromodoris].
Pretty similar are:
Hypselodoris maculosa which has only two orange/red rhinophoral rings,
Hypselodoris yarae which differs by a broad orange marginal band,
Hypselodoris paradisa which lacks brownish or purple at the mantle margin, and has a V-Shaped reddish mark posterior to the rhinophores
Thorunna australis which has a pale bluish or pink background colour, two longitudinal white lines, one on either side of the mantle and always one reddish band on the rhinophores,
Mexichromis aurora which differs by three wide whitish yellow longitudinal bands each outlined with opaque white, and by purple or blue spots between the bands and near the margin, and by small opaque white submarginal spots,
Thorunna cf. florens which differs by two broad dark pink longitudinal bands, outlined in opaque white, by orange rhinophores with a white spot, and by a transverse orange patch on the front of the mantle.
