Hallaxa hileenae is characterized by its purple colour and the prominent Y-shaped ridge on the mantle.
This species was posted on 24 May 2004 at these websites as Hallaxa hileenae  Gosliner & Johnson, 1994.
It is a convention in malacology to use the first initials of authors with the same family name to distinguish between them,
that is R.F. Johnson for Rebecca Fay Johnson and S. Johnson for Scott Johnson. I changed the authority on 7 May 2016.
