Doriprismatica balut is characterized by the whitish-brown body, the mantle has a whitish median region, merging into diffuse orange-brown near the margin. There is a distinctive thin black marginal band, and another thin yellowish submarginal band. The rhinophores are tan, with a thin black line on their posterior face. The gills are tan with dark greyish edges. IPN calls this "charcoal gray". The foot is mottled white.
This species is as Glossodoris sp. 1 in IPN at page 234, it was posted on 18 July 2003 on these websites
as Glossodoris sp. B Genus: Ehrenberg, 1831, and changed on 28 August 2011
into Glossodoris sp. 02 Genus: Ehrenberg, 1831
For some genera was the alphabet almost through. I had to change the distinguishing alphabetic character into a number. I had chosen 2-digit numbers, even though '01' looks a little bit stupid, and now is only the genus italic written.
This species has been recently described, published on 12 July 2018, and changed on 2 August 2018
into Doriprismatica balut  Matsuda & Gosliner, 2018
