When Bornella anguilla swims it moves like an eel, thus the name anguilla which is the Latin word for eel. It has a very characteristic mosaic-like colour pattern.
This species was posted on 21 April 2003 at these websites as Bornella anguilla  Johnson, 1984.
It is a convention in malacology to use the first initials of authors with the same family name to distinguish between them,
that is R.F. Johnson for Rebecca Fay Johnson and S. Johnson for Scott Johnson. I changed the authority on 6 May 2016.
More information on Bornella anguilla are on Bill Rudman's Sea-Slug Forum!
