This is an unidentified or undescribed species of the genus Philinopsis - I call it Philinopsis sp. 01. Species of Philinopsis are usually found burrowing through sand or mud.
Very similar entirely black species are:
Philinopsis sp. 02, which has an elongate appearance, and
Chelidonura sp. 01 which differs by the long 'tails'
This species was posted on 9 July 2003 at these websites as Philinopsis sp. A  Genus: Pease, 1860. on 19 November 2011 changed into
Philinopsis sp. 01  Genus: Pease, 1860
For some genera, such as Trinchesia was the alphabet almost through. I had to change the distinguishing alphabetic character into a number. I had chosen 2-digit numbers, even though '01' looks a little bit stupid, and now is only the genus italic written.
More information on Philinopsis sp. 01 are on Bill Rudman's Sea Slug Forum!
