Chelidonura varians  Eliot, 1903

Chelidonura varians is characterized by its black body with blue margins to the parapodia, a blue median longitudinal band on the headsheald, and a blue transverse submarginal band on the anterior end of the headshield. Like many other members of this genus Chelidonura varians is reported to feed on small flatworms  Chelidonura varians is very similar in colour to the related Philinopsis gardineri from which it can be easily distinguished by the long pointed posterior tails present in Chelidonura.
Here is a specimen burrowing in the sand, this shot shows several specimens mating., this specimen is laying eggs.
