Bulla orientalis is often misidentified as Bulla punctulata  Adams, A. in Sowerby, 1850, also by Dr. Alicia Hermosillo-González.
According to Malaquias & Reed (2008) is Bulla punctulata a different species and restricted to the tropical Eastern Pacific Ocean.
