Syphonota geographica is characterized by its marmorate pattern of green and white. Distinctive is the position of the rhinophores: close together and set back between the high parapodial lobes.
It is also known as Paraplysia piperata (Smith, 1884) and Aplysia scripta  Bergh, 1905.
